About Us

Stevenson Elementary School is a dynamic learning community where academic excellence, creativity, and community involvement come together. As the district’s United Way School, Stevenson is proud to offer a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes STEM education while providing rich opportunities in the arts, leadership, and cultural experiences. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Southfield Good Fellow Recognition Award, Oakland County Calendar Award, and Community Pride Awards. We take pride in fostering academic growth through programs like Battle of the Books, differentiated lessons, after-school tutoring, and partnerships with local organizations like the Southfield Public Library.

Our students also have access to leadership opportunities through initiatives such as the Student Council, recycling programs, and service projects, including fundraisers and food drives. Cultural enrichment is a key part of our school experience, with events like live performances, field trips, and seasonal celebrations. Additionally, we promote physical fitness with programs like Jump Rope for Heart and Winter Olympics, ensuring our students are well-rounded and engaged.

Pet Therapy

We are proud to offer pet therapy as part of our commitment to student well-being. Our school dog, Stevie, plays an important role in creating a warm and supportive environment. Pet therapy has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance social interactions, and Stevie’s presence brings these benefits directly to our students.
